Giovanni Sanfelice di Monteforte

Giovanni brings over 15 years experience leading complex public relations briefs for some of Europe’s largest companies.

Prior to founding Tancredi, Giovanni was the founder and Chief Executive of Barabino UK, the subsidiary of the Italian communications company, between 2008 and 2014. He advised the majority of the FTSE MIB 30 companies in the UK as well as a number of international investors in Italy. Previously, he was head of corporate communications at Telecom Italia Group, where he navigated the company across an intensive M&A program around the globe. Giovanni also worked at ING Baring on the fixed income sales desk, and at Accenture where he worked as an analyst in the Telecommunications and Media sector.

Giovanni holds a Master of Science in Economics and Management of Public Administration and International Institutions from Bocconi University in Milan. He is the Chairman of the Business Club Italia, the think tank for the Italian financial community in London.

Salamander brings over a decade of media experience to Tancredi from her time as a correspondent at the Financial Times, writing extensively on business as well as politics. Her wide experience as a journalist extends from coverage of European multinationals to US politics. In 2003, when the US initiated war in Iraq, Salamander reported from the Washington DC bureau, covering politics including the Pentagon & State Department. Her last role was Media Correspondent where she covered the corporate activities and regulation of Europe’s largest media companies. 

Prior to joining the Financial Times, Salamander served as an aide to a senior member of the Jordanian Royal Family. She has also worked at UBS and Coopers and Lybrand. Salamander has a Masters from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University where she studied as a merit scholar. She specialised in Economics and Development of the Middle East. She gained her BA in French from Edinburgh University.

Mariam Polding (née Alireza) is a trained lawyer who brings deep knowledge public relations in a Middle Eastern context. She has advised large Saudi corporates on complicated public relations issues and has been appointed designated media trainer to Saudi governmental departments as well as private entities. 

She is an expert in strategic content creation and bridging the communications gap between East and West. Her clients have included the Al Waleed Bin Talal Foundation and the World President’s Organisation.Over the past decade Mariam has provided leadership in her roles as editor-in-chief of two large circulation publications in Saudi Arabia.

Mariam plays an important role in philanthropic life in Saudi Arabia which has included founding the first tennis academy for Saudi children.
She holds an MA in law from the American University in Cairo.

Nicholas has a passion for strategic communications built on eight years of experience spanning corporate PR, European and African politics and digital marketing. Based in the United Arab Emirates, he spent the last three years specialising in renewable energy and sustainability for a global strategic communications agency, where he honed skills in corporate positioning, storytelling, social media and media relations.

Outside the UK, Nicholas has spent time living in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Accra and Madrid. He has a passion for current affairs born out of his first career role working in Westminster as Parliamentary Assistant to a Member of Parliament. Nicholas graduated from the University of Exeter in 2008 with a BA in Spanish.

Esfandyar combines media relations knowhow with deep experience in digital marketing communications. He has particular experience in content creation, having written extensively in academic, journalistic, and financial contexts. He is able to bridge the gap between communication styles in both the US and UK and draws upon a network of media contacts across North America and Europe. In his previous role as the business development and communications director at an education-technology company, Esfandyar leveraged numerous channels including media relations, SEO/SEM, social media, content marketing, and field marketing to drive engagement with key audiences. For clients, Esfandyar creates holistic strategies that ensure the full range of digital media tools are used to advance key messaging for maximum impact.

Lauren has spent a large part of her career in public relations and administration. She earned her BA in public relations from Tulane University in the United States. After graduating, Lauren joined Formula PR (now Havas Formula) where she was an account coordinator  and worked with large clients such as ConocoPhillips. She subsequently worked as an assistant to a freelance public relations practitioner in the US where she worked on large briefs.

Carla’s main expertise is in media relations, particularly in the financial services sector, having previously worked in the Group Communications and Public Affairs team at Generali's head office in Milan. Before that, she held similar responsibilities within the Media Relations department at Deutsche Bank. She also has experience working with non-financial corporates, having worked at Havas PR where she focused on the pharma sector. Carla holds an MA in Corporate Communications from Università Cattolica in Milan and a BSc in Economics and Management from Bocconi University.
